There is no better time to publish my blog then during full bloom peony season. Welcome to my site and I hope you enjoy a glimpse into my peony garden!

We have about five peony bushes that I inherited from a co-worker about two years ago. She had to get rid of them because a skunk was living in them the year before. We weren't sure if they would survive after replanting them but thankfully they did and boy did they come in beautiful and luscious! Peonies are by far my favorite flowers and I decided I wanted them to be included in my blog name. Here I am, in peony heaven, picking them!

When my husband and I got married almost 4 years ago, I really wanted my bouquet to be peonies. But, it ended up we had an August wedding, so my florist sort of talked me out of it. She would have had to have them shipped from a different country. If we were married in June (my favorite month), I would have had my peony bouquet. At least now I will have a pretty peony bouquet every year!
Peonies are easy to care for and need little maintenance. We cut the stems down in the fall or late winter. There is no need to water them because the rain is enough. They will not bloom until ants eat the buds, so don't spray your house perimeter for bugs or they probably will not bloom.

My former co-worker will usually contact me each year in regards to how her children are doing. :) I think they are in good hands! Wait until she sees I've made a peony blog!

Add them to a chic vase and voila, you have a peony air freshener and a beautiful bouquet.

I also added them to a small vase and made a pretty little window sill above my kitchen sink.

They add a little bit of shabby chic to any home!

Stop and smell the peonies by your nightstand!
