Our little Lilli has turned one! What a wonderful year it has been! Her birthday party was a success, but it took a few months of planning and preparing for it. The most time consuming thing was making tissue paper flowers as seen in the pictures. I originally saw them on Etsy, selling for $80. You get 10 for that price. I wanted many more but I didn't want to spend that kind of money. So, I looked up the DIY on YouTube. It was fairly easy but time consuming when your making enough for a flower wall. To make the flower wall, I hot glued the flowers to 4 pieces of foam. I was sure to use the right type of glue (low heat) so it wouldn't melt the foam. Then, my husband helped me glue the 4 pieces of foam together and onto two wood panels.

The theme of the party was boho bunny. I found adorable invitations on Etsy. She was our little Easter bunny last year, being born one week before Easter.

I wanted to make cute ruffled and rosette cupcakes. I am not a baker by any means, but I pulled it off thanks to YouTube tutorials. How would we do anything in life without Pinterest or YouTube? :) The cupcakes are just Pillsbury boxed cake mix , but the frosting was homemade buttercream. I looked up a few buttercream recipes on Pinterest. I did a trial run to make sure the recipe would turn out okay. As you can see in the photo above the icing was melting. Again, I'm glad I did a trial run on her actual birthday, so I found to keep the icing refrigerated even though it said it can be room temperature. We keep our house temperature at 72 but it still melted a bit.

I ordered this adorable 1st birthday poster on Etsy and it matched the theme of her party. I still have it framed and in her playroom, as well as the tissue paper flower wall. As shown, I taped the flowers to the wall with painters tape for the photo shoot. Our cat Louie likes to make appearances in photos.

I made a month to month picture board by printing her monthly pictures on our home printer. I used cupcake toppers from Etsy to show the month.

I painted the "Pin the Tail on the Bunny" poster for a fun activity for the older kids at the party. Please don't mind the green painters tape. We weren't allowed to hang anything on the walls at the venue.

Cupcake smash!
