What a beautiful summer it has been so far! I have a list of things to do on my summer bucket list but this one in particular wasn't even on my list until a couple of days ago. I found out about a lavender farm festival in our area (well, an hour away) through Facebook events. I've been wanting to go to a lavender farm to pick some flowers for a few years. But, the farm I knew of closed before I had a chance. My mom loves lavender and I knew she would be up for a day of all things lavender! So, we packed up the car and took the baby for a Saturday morning day of fun!

The farm had the option for you to cut your own bunches of lavender. It was so peaceful and relaxing, even with a toddler on the go! We kept her in the stroller while we picked.

The best time to pick is early morning, therefore, we beat the heat and the crowds.

Peek-a-boo!

I'm not gonna lie, it wasn't easy with her. We stayed around 2 hours and that was her limit. She spent some time in the stroller and some of the time walking around. Then the tantrums came.

It's hard to be stressed when you're in such a dreamy place.

The farm festival also had a ukulele band playing which was wonderful. It was soft and mellow music that went perfectly with the atmosphere.

There were craft classes at the festival and I wish we could have done them. They had wine glass painting, canvas painting and make your own lavender vase from clay. We walked around and saw different things for sale from local vendors. Home decor, fashion accessories, candles and even alpaca fur blankets! Have you ever felt alpaca fur? It is the softest, fluffiest I've ever touched. Sorry Chubs (my cat), you aren't the softest like I thought.

Lavender bouquet to last for years!

Did you know there are many different kinds of lavender? There are so many different shades of purple, and even white. From tall to short, they all smell lovely. English lavender is the most widely grown type of lavender grown in North America.

"Lavender's green dilly dilly, lavender's blue,
If you love me, dilly dilly, I will love you.
Let the birds sing, dilly dilly, and the lambs play,
We shall be safe, dilly dilly, out of harms way.
I love to dance, dilly dilly, I love to sing,
When I am queen, dilly dilly, you'll be my king."

Okay, now I want to watch Cinderella after those cute song lyrics.

Next up, alpaca farm!
